Facility maintenance functions and building project activities cannot be performed effectively without active interest and continuous involvement on the part of management. FSP's management recognizes the need to provide a quality maintenance program by first defining tasks, documenting accountability, reviewing objectives and monitoring the continuous performance of the service. A major component in establishing quality, cost effective services is the initial orientation procedures and training. The fundamental purpose of training is to improve operating procedures and worker productivity by demonstrating better and safer ways to perform the work. Programs must emphasize positive reinforcement, not just an exercise in criticism. Results should not be expected immediately, but should accumulate over time.
